Kicking off with The Mixed Six, a purchasable half-case of recommended bottles, 2023’s “Everything You Need to Know About Wine Right Now” is a grouping of recent wine content published on Punch, intended to function as a snapshot of today’s wine culture.

To make this repurposed content feel fresh, I worked with the edit team to bucket our articles into sections and better structure the page as a whole. From there, I hired illustrator Kine Andersen to create a lead illustration and spot illustrations, as well as original hand lettering for each module. The rest of the page was filled out with original design surrounding repurposed photography and illustration.

In designing the page using Ceros, I created several interactive modules, including a bottle recommendations lockup, a natural wine–themed shopping section and a guide to the new vocabulary of wine; elsewhere on the page, links to related content connect to articles on wine nightlife, glassware trends, hybrid grapes and co-ferments.

Inspiration for the page design takes shape from wine illustrations already in the Punch catalogue that were included in this package, including those from Mallory Heyer and Erin Dwia, as well as from various natural wine accounts, which inspired the package colors and typography.
